One day last week, Mayah, Tori and I went to do a little early Christmas shopping.  We loaded up and went to the mall, found a great parking place and someone even opened the door for me as I steered the ginormous double stroller inside.  We headed to Dillard's because I wanted to get Michael a watch for Christmas.  Mayah asked where we were going and I told her we were going to buy Daddy a present.  She kept repeating, "We're going to buy Daddy a present!  We're going to buy Daddy a present!"  We got there and she even helped me pick out the perfect watch.  Tori rode joyfully in the back sucking on her toy duck and slobbering everywhere, as usual.  After a little more shopping, walking around, choo-choo riding and cookie eating, we headed home.  I left the gift in car, but I covered it up so he wouldn't ask questions.  A little while after Michael got home, we decided to all go eat.  Michael was putting Mayah in the car and I was carrying Tori out when I heard Michael crack up laughing out loud.  I looked up and asked what happened??  He said, "She just told all your business."  At that moment, I already knew what happened.  As soon as Michael put her in her seat, she shouted "Daddy, Mommy got you a watch!"  She didn't say present, she didn't say gift, no, she told him we got him a watch!!!

After that I thought, what's the point?!?  It looks real good on him too.  From now on, Tori and I are doing all the Christmas shopping alone.  At least until she can talk too.

Tori crawls all over the house.  We are not used to this because Mayah never crawled or pulled stuff down or opened drawers.  But Tori....oh but Tori.  My kitchen towels are always in the floor.  She opens drawers and takes out whatever she can reach, then as soon as she gets it, tries to take off crawling with it in her hand before you notice.  She grabs everything in reach and pulls herself up to stand on anything.

and she's off....

Tori pulled herself up to her feet for the first time tonight.  I was getting pjs ready, Michael was getting the bath ready, when he called me and told me to come look quick.  Tori had been playing in her crib, and when we got there she was standing up holding on the the railing.

Tori has teeth!  She cut her first two teeth on the bottom yesterday.

Tuesday, September 22, 2009....
So I've heard I'm a crappy blogger.  I've been a little busy (remember 2 children, 3 with my DH)...but here's the gist of what went on.

 * Max and Laura got married.
 * Papaw went to Heaven.
 * I celebrated my 28th birthday.
 * Mayah discovered the choo choo at the mall.
 *Tori ate her first meal.
 * Mayah learned to slide at the park all by herself.
 * We made plans to build a house.

Mayah turned 2 on September 11th.  We had her party on the 19th.  A backyard carnival, with a cotton candy machine and even a mini-donkey.

Last night we all sat down as a family to eat dinner.  Mayah decided that she didn't want what I cooked so she handed me her plate and in a very loud voice told me she didn't want that and she was NOT going to eat!  So I told her that if she wasn't going to eat with us then she needed to go to her room by herself.  She looked at me with her sad face and two seconds later walked to her room.  As we were eating I couldn't hear her playing, so I tip toed down the hall to see what she was doing, as I peeked around the corner of her door, I saw her laying fast asleep on her bed.  My heart broke a little...and she slept all night.

Mayah got her first bloody lip today!!  I went to pick her up from PDO and they said she had a little accident, not 2 minutes before I got there.  She was standing in a booster chair on the ground and reached for a little bus...she tipped over and hit the bus on the bottom her lip and bite through with her teeth on the top!  It bleed A LOT!  They said she was  a little trooper though, she only cried for about a minute.  But of course, when I walked in she started bawling all over again, and proceeded to tell me about the :mean bus."  A little bag of ice and a cookie later, and she's all better now.

Mayah is enjoying her new PDO at Trinity, and I think Tori is too.  I'm liking it as well.  I love Mayah's teacher, Ms. Shirley, who is beginning to wean her of the paci (we are trying, with not much avail).

Laura and Max have returned home.  I showed Mayah a picture of her and Max playing outside and asked her who it was, after a few moments she said very assuredly "Mickey Mouse!"  Well, they both start with M...

Tori is growing like crazy!  She is getting so big.  She loves the jumpie!

Today was Mayah's last day of KDO at Southcrest.  I am very sad that she won't be going back.  They have a great program and wonderful teachers and people there.

Mayah & Ms. Liz

Mayah & Ms. Jennifer

Both Mayah and Tori will now be going to Trinity PDO (or now it's called TLC - Trinity Learning Center).  I know this is also a great program and they will enjoy it just like at Southcrest.  This program also works out better for us because it is a 5 day a week program instead of just two.  It's also better than a regular day care.  We went and looked at some I wanted to turn around the second after I walked in.  I mean, 10 babies Tori's age to 2 teachers!!  I don't think so!  I also want them to be in a godly atmosphere.

After I picked up Mayah, we went and had lunch with Daddy at his work.  Happy meals!!

Sunday, May 17, 2009.....

Mayah ate all by herself today.  She took her bowl and her spoon and ate an entire bowl of oatmeal, all without mommy's help.  She didn't even flip the spoon upside down like she normally does.  She's growing up so fast.

Wednesday, May 13, 2009.....
Today we went to visit Meemaw in the rehab center.  Mayah just had to take her purse, fully loaded with her bracelet, lotion, passy and pink panther sidekick.  She then proceeded to show Meemaw everything in her purse several times, then entertained her with a show by singing and miming Itsy Bitsy Spider again and again.  Meemaw is doing better and since we are just down the street will be visiting her quite often for encores.

As we were leaving, I told Mayah to stand right by the car so I could put Tori in first.  She decided that she would rather sit instead.

Yesterday was my first Mother's Day with two little ones.  It was so blessed.  My two peas in a pod.  We went to church then out to Nana & Papaw's house for lunch.  Michael and I went on the radio with our Pastors for the series "Organizing Your Marriage to Prosper."  I was nervous at first, but then the Holy Spirit just opened my mouth and it just flowed out.  We will be back on next week at 92.7 KJAK.  You can listen live over the internet too.

Happy birthday, Aaron!

Thursday, May 7, 2009.....
Tori came to work with mommy all day.  Our sitter, my Meemaw, had to go to the hospital.  Mayah went to school (KDO) and we and no one to watch Tori so my wonderful boss, Kristi, said that I could bring Tori for the day.  She was so good, just smiled and kicked and laid on her blanket all day in between her mini naps.

Meemaw is still in the hospital.  She had a blood clot in her leg which cause sever pain and temporary paralysis.  Mayah has been asking to go to Meemaw's house almost everyday so she called her on the phone the last night.  It's amazing that you can hold a complete conversation with a 19 month old.   We are praying that Meemaw be completely healed and that she gets to go home very soon.

Our house flooded last night.  Both toilet just began to overflow.  We had about an inch of water in the back bathroom that soaked into my closet, our room and under the walls into Tori's room.  As Michael was cleaning the line last night he saw the city sewage truck at the end of the alley....the entire main line had backed up.  So it was not my fault as originally thought, but needless to say I will not be placing wipeys in the potty anymore.  Prayerfully, the city will pay for our damages, if not we're in good hands with Allstate.

Saturday, May 2, 2009.....
Mayah began cutting her molars.  Had fever and wouldn't eat.  We stayed home until Tuesday night when she finally started feeling better.  She now has two new teeth on the left side of her mouth.  Only about four more to go and she'll be done.

So I thought I would finally hop on the blogger bandwagon to record life events and milestones in my family.  I'm not doing this so much for everyone else, but for me and my girls that maybe one day they will want to look back.
